East Linn Christian Academy Doctrinal Statement

East Linn Christian Academy is an educational institution committed to consistent biblical Christianity as set forth in the following doctrinal position. It is nondenominational in character and under biblical principles.

  1. We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God; (Heb. 4:12, I Peter 1:25, Jn. 17:17)
  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; (Matt. 3:16, Eph. 4:6, Ex. 20:3)
  3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory; (Jn. 1:1-3, Matt. 1:23, II Cor. 5:21, Jn. 2:11, Heb. 9:11-14, Col. 3:1, Matt. 16:27-28, Jn. 10:30)
  4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration sovereignly applied by the Holy Spirit and evidenced by a living faith in Christ is absolutely essential; (Jn. 3:3, Tit. 3:5-8, I Jn. 2:3-6)
  5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life; (Eph. 3:17-18, Rom. 8:9)
  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation; (Jn. 3:36)
  7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph. 4:3)
  8. We believe God created man and from the man created woman.  He created them male and female.  He created man in his own image, in the image of God He created them.  We believe that God created marriage and for this reason He designed marriage and marital relationships to be between a man and a woman. (Gen. 1:27, Gen 2:21-24, Rom. 1:18-27)
